Mother's Day 2012 {The simple things}

Today is mother's day!
Yesterday 3 other mums (who I have known since we were all pregnant with our first daughters) and I went to Bath for lunch at wagamamas (pretty apt!) and some much needed child free shopping!
It was lovely and so relaxing - a proper mothers day treat!  I also bought the girls a few bits for our upcoming trip!
I don't think I have mentioned it yet on the blog...but in 2 weeks today we are flying to America!
We are having 2 weeks in Boston and New York!  I am SOOOO excited!
Anyone live/been to these places?  Any tips on where to go/what to see and do/where to eat/shop etc?? {all child friendly!}

 Anyhoo, back to mother's day!
This morning after being woken up by my beautiful girls at 6.35am (ouch!), I was ordered to stay in bed....and I certainly wasn't going to argue! I could hear Bryn putting the kettle on and my two giggling girls getting things out of the craft cupboard.
Avie was saying "Lily I think mummy likes the colour orange.....well done Lily, that looks so beautiful" and Lily replied "ooh..thank you woo woo"! {woo-woo is the name Lily uses for Avie!}

Minutes later Lily came running up flinging a card and present onto my bed and saying
"happee mamas day mummeeeeee"
Followed by a beaming Avie who had decorated a box at school for me which had 3 candles inside.  Apparently the church near her school had supplied the boxes and candles and the children had decorated the boxes.
And Avie had made the most beautiful card with a tulip on the front and written inside was
"To Mummy, thank you for beeing my mummy, lots of love avie".
And Lily...well Lily had made me a card with the most amazing colourful scribbles on it...
proudest mummy ever!

(I also got a cd...think daddy may have helped with that surprise!)

We are having a chillout day at home this morning, then going over to my mum's this afternoon for cake and more celebrations!  Looking forward to it!

  1. Melt! How lucky you are :) I have a son and a daughter and they are precious, but isn't it sweet when they show you in their simple ways that they love and appreciate you? Happy mothers day.
