Me and My Little English Blog!

Today there is a  big blog hop gathering between 4 amazing blogs - 3 of which I have been following for a while...4 of which I now follow!!!!  I am linking up with Casey Wiegand because I have been reading her lovely blog the longest and love her approach to life and relate to how she raises her precious babies.

Anyways...a little bit about me for anyone who is stopping by....

I am Sarah
married to Bryn
mummy to 2 amazing little girls....

Avie Grace {5}

Lily Fleur {almost 2}

I live in England in a quaint little town which has the oldest Abbey in the country
I am a stay at home mummy
Before having children, my work background was in Law

I love my family
full stop .

I am new to blogging
but I mainly use this blog as a memory keeper
so I don't forget all the special things my family do/say/have etc

Only my husband knows I blog...
it is my personal space and although I love the encouragment of others who read my blog, I like to be able to write whatever I like and not worry about those around me knowing my inner most thoughts!
Is that just me?!
Am I totally weird?!!

That's me then..in a nutshell!

I have had over a week off from blogging, but planning to get my groove back on this weekend I promise!

It has been a busy old week - my hubby has been busy working with wood!
He has built a wooden greenhouse,
a wooden tent hideout for the girls
and a dressing up rail for all their cinderella and sleeping beauty outfits!

I've even given my grandfather's chest of drawers a make over!  Eeek...I love it!!!

We have also moved Lily out of her cot and into bunk beds with Avie in the same room!!

Pictures of all of the above to come!

I look forward to reading some lovely blogs and am honoured if you have read this far and given mine a chance!

Ta ta for now!

Sarah. xx

My first Thankful Thursday 13th Oct 2011

I have found this lovely "Thankful Thursday" event over at Black Tag Diaries blog.  Such a great idea to sit and contemplate on what you are thankful for!

1) First and foremost, I am thankful for these guys....

2) I am thankful that my big girl has settled so well into her lovely school.  6 weeks after starting and we still haven't had any tears or any not wanting to go!  Wow - she is a little super star and I am so proud of her.

3) Like I said in this post I am especially thankful this week for having one on one time with my baby girl for the first time in 2 years!  She is thriving on the time I am devoting to her and loving the groups I can now take her to.  I love her so much.

4) I am thankful that for the first time in months, we had a weekend to ourselves this week with no visitors, birthday parties or plans.  We caught up on sleeping, relaxing, family cuddle time, built bunk beds for the girls (more to come on that one!) and then the boring but very necessary housework (yawn!)

5) I am thankful for chocolate kit kats! (might go and see if we have any left in the cupboard in a min! Perfect with a cuppa!)

6) And finally I am thankful for autumn...I love the summer, but I also love autumn...crunching your way through crisp autumn leaves, wrapping up warm in snuggly jumpers, nice hot drinks (with kit kats!) and roaring open fires (if only we have one of those!)

Well that is me done for my first (very rushed)  thankful thursday!  Hope i've done it right!  Will be back next week!!

Embrace the Camera 13th Oct 2011

I am pretty much used to being mummy to just one little lady for the majority of the day now.
Avie has been in school for almost 6 weeks now and I have to say, I am loving the
one on one time with Lily while her big sis is at school!
{This is not to say that I am not missing my big girl like ce-ra-zy though!}

I used to go to loads of baby groups early on with Avie, but by the time Lily came into our lives, there was no time to do the same with Lily as our lives seemed to revolve around Avie's pre-school drop off's and pick up's and taking her to her big girl groups.  There were still baby groups going on, but the timing never seemed to fit in with our lives.

So I have been feeling serious amounts of
THE MUMMY GUILT!

You know what that is...
we've all been there
(on a daily basis for me about one thing or another!)
You just can't escape it.
But you can ease it
a little...

So now that Avie is at school from 9.15am - 3.20pm, I can now devote some mummy time to just Lily and she is loving it!  On monday morning's we do Music & Movement, where we do lots of singing and shaking our booty and on wednesday we go to Toddler group, where we play with tons of toys, have juice and a biscuit (sometimes 2 when mummy's not looking), do crafts and more music and shaking of booty's!  And the mummy's sit down with a cuppa and generally break up fights and return snatched toys to their rightful owners! And on other day's we get together with friends or see Granny or cousins etc - lots of playing for Lily and drinking tea for mummy.

I am loving seeing my little girl coming out of her shell and really developing
 an incredible (cheeky) personality!

She is also loving being able to have long quality naps!  Because we can be at home every afternoon if we want to, before we have to do the school run, Lily gets a 2-3hour whopper of a nap.  And the cuddles she gives me to let me know it's nap time are
delicious

I love this scrummy girl!

Sweet little baby bunches...

Look what we can do with Lily's hair.....{even if it only stays in for 5 mins!}

Aren't bunches so cute??!!  Most of the pics of me when I was younger have me with bunches in!

When Avie was younger than Lily she had much thicker curly hair and we would put it into bunches all the time....

Avie bored of seeing yet another amazing waterfall in New Zealand!

Don't my girls look so similar at this age?  {Apart from the curls}

Embrace the Camera 6th October 2011

In light of my biggest girl Avie starting school (and what a fantastic start she's having might I add!), I am doing some flashback photos of her for Embrace the camera this week.

I haven't been writing this blog for long, so it gives me an opportunity to put some much loved photos of my big 5 year old as she was 3 years ago and memories of my wedding day on my blog all at once!!

Yes...our eldest managed to wangle an invite to our wedding!

We managed to get pregnant...
then buy our first house...
then go on our honeymoon to NZ for 4 weeks in a campervan with Avie who was 22 months old...
then 10 days after landing back in the UK, we got married!

We do things a bit out of the box - and we love it that way!!

Apologies for the rubbish photo quality - they had to be scanned in as I can't find the disc with them on!

Our little flower girl certainly stole the show!

And lastly a pic with my parents..love them so much. xx

I love that our big little girl was at our wedding..lovely memories. xxx
