30

Today I turned 30.

I am finally a grown up.

I am so happy.

I have an amazing husband,

2 beautiful, healthy, incredible daughters,

I own a lovely house (with the help of the bank), we have 2 cars to get us to work and school,

We are not rich by any stretch of the imagination, but we have enough to get by on and can save up for things we really want or need.

Our families are amazing...they support us in everything we do, they look after our children and they give us so much love.

And I have great friends....not loads of friends, but the few I have I can count on always.  I am grateful to have these friendships.  So many people count the number of friends they have...I count the quality of friendships that I have.

My 30th
I woke up on Saturday 24th and was handed a book of hanmade vouchers from two very exciteable girls!  Inside were timed vouchers throughout the day with cryptic clues on.

My first voucher was for Breakfast in bed!
Then we got dressed (child free - bliss!) and along with several bags and the girls, I got whisked into the car and off we set.

I tried guessing where we were going, but would never have guessed...
we parked up in Bath, crossed the road - and then my best friend Lucy and her husband started crossing the road behind me!

Then we walked to the canal - where a narrowboat was waiting for us!
Such a surprise!
We sailed down the canal in the sunshine drinking pink champagne and cherry lambrini (classy!)
and ate homeade (by my amazing husband) cheese and bacon twists and cheese straws!
We all had a go at driving the boat...some were better than others
(i managed to crash into the side of the canal thanks to some good oversteering, ahem..)

We moored the boat and started walking.....ending up at The Angelifish Restaurant on the water...where my parents and sister and her family were waiting to have lunch with me!  I was completely shocked!  It was so lovely!

After lunch we sailed the boat back up the canal, said our goodbyes to our friends and headed home.

Little did I know that minutes after we arrived home, I would be getting visitors!
My friend Kelly arrived, then Lucy and her husband, then my parents arrived to come and pick the girls up and take them to their house for the night!!
Then Bryn's sister, brother and their partners and then my sister and brother-in-law all turned up!
We had food and then headed into town for drinks - where more of my local friends were waiting for me!  We stayed till closing and then went home and ate birthday cake - white chocolate covered chocolate cake, made by Bryn!  Again - amazing!

I am seriously one lucky gal!
My husband has been planning this for the last 8 months!  And he even arranged the sunshine!

Today
Then today, on my actual birthday, Bryn was at work and Avie at school (boo), but my mum and sister celebrated with me.  My mum and dad gave me lots of money to spend on holiday in America and my sister gave me a beautiful 'sisters' ornament - beautiful.

We went into Cirencester to look at the shops and then went for lunch and a play at the Cotswold water park - once again in the glorious early summer sun that we have been so lucky to have this week!

I have truly had a 30th to remember!

I love my friends and family so much!
xx
