Ma petite fleur...

My big girl started french lessons today!  We visit France every year and last summer she started to say a few words in french and ever since she has (on a daily basis) quizzed Mr David and I on what the french word for this and that is.  She can count to 10 in french (and spanish..thanks Dora!) and recently at pre school learnt a few songs and the clarity of her words was incredible.  My mum is fluent in French and she could understand everything Avie was singing about!  So I took the decision to start her in lessons before she starts school in September.  The teacher said that they usually only take school age children, but seeing as Avie only missed out on starting school last September by a few days she was happy to give her a trial.

So today was her trial and she loved it.  She was a bit shy at first and wanted me to go in with her and we even almost had tears...but within 2 mins of the group singing french songs and taking turns to say "Comment t'appelles tu?....Je M'appelle Avie" she was asking me to leave the room.  So all in all a brilliant lesson and I'm hoping she will have learnt a few more words/phrases by the time we go to France again this summer.

We love France..and a trip that springs to my memory is when I was quite heavily pregnant with baby number 2....baby number 2 then went on to be called Lily FLEUR.

Here are some piccies of me with Avie and a very big Lily bump...

Avie's going to suffocate in there!

Love this pic..my surfer girl...

Can't wait to go this year..we are staying in a villa in Domme in the Dordogne region.  We're going (as always) with my mum, dad, sis and her brood..so there are 6 adults and 5 kids ranging from 18 months - 8 years.  Really looking forward to it!

Au revoir for now!! xx
